Episode 59: 2003 Screw Kappa Napa Merlot
“Whoa,” the Grapedonk said, on seeing this wine. “That’s just wrong. Must be a frat wine.” But on tasting, he was impressed. “Kinda reminds me of a Vernor’s ginger ale, put a shot of cherry Coke in it.”
But the wine had so much oak in it, the Grapedonk has to do his Okie thing. “Noe dat I took a couple dranks of it, I can taste the cola thing a little more…it’s almost got a root-beer thing…” One of the more interesting Merlots we’ve had, and a helluva deal at under $5.
