“It’s a blend,” said the Grapedonk. “Caber-Neht, Mer-Laht, and Caber-Neht with, uh, Frank in there.” Asked if a Claret was like a clarinet, Grapedonk happily obliged by playing “Popeye the Sailor Man” on his improvised Claret-net. Maybe a new career for him? Let’s hope not.
“There are a lot of things going on here,” Grapedonk said, on tasting the wine. “Every dark berry thing in the world, tannins, a bit of a dry thing at the end, but not too dry, it doesn’t wring your mouth out and make it dryer than a popcorn fart . . .” In short, we liked it a lot!
We paid $0, but we understand this wine costs about $18. Once again, thanks for being brave enough to send to the Grapedonk! Buy this wine at Donati Vineyards.
