Episode 96: 2005 Hahn Estates Syrah

Hahn Syrah—is that like Han Solo? We don’t know, but after a debate about the merits of wine labels and their description (or lack thereof), we ended up with a wine that looked like “blueberry syrup” and was “full of wood.” No, not Grapedonk’s wood. At least we certainly hope not.

“You know, like, when you eat a really rare steak, you get that blood taste, like stainless steel? It has a little bit of that going on,” Grapedonk said. “It’s like pine tree, like cool Christmas tree, with ginger ale.” If that makes sense to you, go at it. It’s a good wine, though.
